The Place You Love Is Gone (Hardcover & Paperback)

Quoting from a customer review on Amazon: "...(a) dreamy and emotive look at changing landscapes, both in (the author's) personal history and the history of America..." The hardcover (first image) presents loss more subtly than does the paperback (bottom), although both reference the flooding of towns in upstate NY that created reservoirs to provide New York City with drinking water. (Although both published in 2006, the skeptical part of me says that the paperback photo has an intentional Katrina-ish feel.)

  1. The 2nd cover is a definite winner. The top one is a yawn.

I have to agree with Kitty - the first cover is about nothing. The second looks much better, but I think a better photo could have been chosen to illustrate the topic.
