I don't disagree that we've seen things like this before. But the execution looks flawless...and it's another book-on-a-book cover! :-)
The book pictured is set in all italics.
I have many books that contain page-length (and more) passages set in italics.
It's a fine homage to John Gall. And a bunch of other people.But a flawless execution of an old idea is still an old idea.Can we call this trend dead now?-Christian in NYC
The comment about Helen Yentus in 2007 makes me wish I could search labels by designer.

It may be done- but as a reader without design background- this worked for me. I would pick up the book.
