I've said it before (re. the Miranda July title): designs like this stand out more for what they aren't than for what they are -- and that's not a bad thing. If I see something like this a couple times a year, I'm definitely going to pick it up off the new books table. Any more than that and I'll start having nightmares (again) about Kant's Critique of Pure Reason. And is it odd that both of these use sentence and not title case?


Evan though the Shields cover reads easier, the July cover looks sexier. I like the tighter leading and kerning. I wonder why the pub wanted a cover that looked so much like the July cover.
