I've not featured much crime fiction on the BDR, but I was pretty fond of the design for 2007's The Chicago Way. It didn't make it into the favorites of 2007, but it did make it into last year's Chicago favorites; how nice to find the look and feel continued on Harvey's new book. And the Vintage Crime / Black Lizard paperback at the bottom of this post ain't nothin' to sneeze at either.

I dislike the pointless shadows on the covers, but I love the slightly granulated images. Especially the woman's mouth on The Chicago Way; it feels very reminiscent of Lichtenstein's art.
ReplyDeleteBottom one is by far the best.
ReplyDeleteBottom one is Kulick. Nicely done man. Diggin the silver ink in the city lights.
ReplyDeleteThe top two are by Jason Booher
ReplyDeleteI would really like the bottom one except I'm completely distracted by the fact that the font and even color of the author's name seem utterly out of place, almost as if the name is pasted from another book.
ReplyDeletethese are all very wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of cover design would you give this?
