A week or so ago, Boing Boing featured a wonderful video for a new book about the history of jetpacks. Here's the cover.
Simple? Sure. Effective? Heck yeah. A really great example of basic design principles, well executed.

Seeing as I'm far from literate concerning cover designs, I have more admiration for the title and subtitle than the design. 'Jetpack dreams' is a stunning title which, I suppose, is meant in a literal sense, but could so easily touch on many subjects of life. Simply wonderful.

ReplyDeleteIt's unusual that this cover appears to be having so much fun, despite the use of some very sterile typefaces. Another case for great imagery speaking for itself.
