Milk

Design by Barbara deWilde

Love the cover of this cookbook / history of milk: the off-centeredness of the title; the type (which looks old-ish but is clearly a modern computer typeface, and which therefore serves as a nice visual reference to the "through the ages" in the subtitle); and finally a cover that doesn't float a singular, iconic image but actually grounds it on a surface.

UPDATE: Awesome detail from reader Scott: "The designer is Barbara deWilde. Barbara experimented with creating the type using milk and a paint brush before choosing to use this type."

This was a tough one to look at, as I haven't had a glass of milk in 35 years and I fully concur with Chevy Chase on the subject:

Veganomicon

Designed by Alex Camlin

I'm no vegan, but is using colors that remind one (or me, at least) of straw and mold the best way to spread the gospel of vegan deliciousness? I don't think so.
