Monday, August 29, 2005The Tender BarWonderful photograph for a memoir of someone who essentially grew up in a bar. I love that the chairs on the tables are all up and that the bar is close to closing (or opening?) and that the kid is still there. Posted by Joseph at 1:59 AM

I agree. I like the kid peering over the bar like that, emphasizing his tender age.
All the main elements are jammed into the edges, leaving a big empty blah in the middle. This cover is interesting because it is quirky, but that's about all it is. I agree that the type seems wrong here.
Secret word for the day: vljmyus!
Agree about the type---wish it was a little more classical, but the photo is wonderful and really conveys the right feeling.
By the way, the book is great too!
