But seriously: anyone think this would be stronger without the ornamental border? Or at least something a bit less intrusive, perhaps smaller, perhaps with a different orientation?

I was going to pass on this one, and then I noticed the author's first name and, well, awwww :)
Saw this in the bookstore the other day, too. Change the outside border? But then the border around the title-text would have to be adjusted accordingly, and that smaller border seems to be quite fitting.
