If I don't think too much about it (read: look at it as a person in a bookstore would) then this grabs my attention. It seems witty, biting (haha), but human. Something about the sizing tells me that he's talking about a bloated company.
But if I stare too long, I get hungry for Tim Horton's... mmmm... bear claw....
Having read Max Barry's previous "Jennifer Government" (fantastic fun by the way), my suspicion is that this design really doesn't say as much as it ought to.
The donut is a great launchpad for an image concept, but this probably should go further
