Ivan's War

I really like the typeface in the title. It just seems perfect for a book about Russia in the 30s and 40s.

I'd say this is a effective cover because it made me buy the book.

A agree. The type and color and picture are all perfect -- very effective.

the title lettering is crude and amateurish. this might be a designers ploy to convey the primitive quality of the russian economy or simply a reflection of the designers lack of taste. most designers make an effort to evoke the character of russian alphabets by by reversing the "R" or the "N".
