American Green: The Obsessive Quest for the Perfect Lawn

A book about the quest for the perfect lawn would result, for me at least, in a perfect yawn. With brilliant insights like "golf courses are 'the most intensively managed lawns in America,'" I think I'll take a pass.

Re. the cover, I don't know why the text is so heavily concentrated on the bottom of the shirt. Would you have tried to spread it out more? I would have...

You're right about the text: its so concentrated that my eye ends up zeroing in on, um, his crotch.

This is one of those concept books where it would have been fun to just open it up more, perhaps just green grass cover with the text 'trimmed' out of it? Shears left in the corner? The image here is good, but its too busy to allow for a good type treatment (hence the T-Shirt look).

It does draw attention...downward. Perhaps the book is really about personal grooming habits? Trim the lawn has multiple meanings...
