Its so strange that in their advertisements for this new (and, might I add, amazing) look, the publisher decided to run "Cover illustration by..." under the author name.
I love the Dorothy Parker cover, but then again, I love Seth's work. See? Its working already... Brand name recognition.
Wow... my hipster side is drooling...
Art Spiegelmann's recursive take on The New York Trilogy is fantastic, and it goes in the opposite direction of how a lot of Auster's work has been presented in the past x number of years - which is to say, clinical and detached in comparison (with the exception of Mr. Vertigo, another Spiegelman cover illustration). I guess I am buying this a third time ...
As for The Jungle, my mind instantly leapt to Sue Coe - where's her work lately? - but Charles Burns is suitably grim, though not instantly recognizable as his work. Not at thumbnail size anyway.
