Some things should be caught as bad ideas in the planning stage. A donkey in armor would count as one of those things.

This is bound to invite unfortunate comparisons to Dukakis-in-a-tank. It's even weirder when you see the expression on the donkey on the actual cover in real life. No foolin', check it out

edit: the name of the article was "A Fighting Faith". Makes a difference, doesn't it
