50 Books/50 Covers

I'm out of town again this weekend (another wedding!), so spend some time with these covers, all of which were selected for the AIGA 50 Books/50 Covers exhibit. These aren't necessarily my favorites (although wouldn't you kill to have ONE of these in your portfolio?), but rather are some that haven't appeared on this blog before. Check them all out at http://designarchives.aiga.org/.

I really like the covers for all these books except 'Fight Club'. Such a tacky cover for such a wonderful novel. I understand it maybe trying to create some sense of distortion but it's just tacky.

I like them all. Second drafts of History really takes my fancy. No worries- I have lots of extra fancy for later.

I find the 'Fight Club' cover very handsome and restrained-- how's it tacky?

Just thought it could've done with a better cover. Not my cup of tea. I believe comlex novels should have involved covers. Much like the German cover: http://hometown.aol.com/intrloper9/FIGHTCLUBNOVELGERMAN.gif
