Half Life, Hardcover and Paperback

We've seen the hardcover previously:



Overall, I think the new paperback (below) is stronger. Gone are the "octopus legs" from the hardcover and the rather unfortunate placement of the words "A Novel."



But what struck me when I first saw the new paperback was how wonderful the shape of the negative space is, and how it's obscured by all the frilly detail. I didn't replace the title and author text, but would this be stronger without so much detail?

The very top one is certainly the better of the three. Another catchy cover. Good effort.
