Sunday, September 16, 2007Until Proven InnocentI don't read books like this. That's not meant to be snotty or condescending; I just don't. But I'm wondering exactly how recognizable the defendant are (I *do* watch CNN) and if this wouldn't look more ominous without their photos. Let the black creeping shadow, and all it represents, do its work. Posted by Joseph at 11:23 PM

yeah, you're right. But then it would tend to look like a novel. But who says it can't?
You don't read books like this but you DO make comments on them? Don't you feel that intellectually you need to review something in order to make a comment on it? Or else what is the value of anything you say?
Anonymous: I don't read every book I review here. I wish I could, but I don't. If you look around a bit more you'll see that I do try my best to read reviews of the books when I can't read the books themselves, very often quoting from and / or linking to the reviews.
I also sometimes don't read a thing about the book, but see it in a bookstore, appreciate the design, and it winds up here. I don't have a problem with that, and I don't think many of my readers do either.
