Obsession: A History

Design by Isaac Tobin
Lettering by Lauren Nassef

No photoshoppery here: according to Isaac's Web site: "Lettering by Lauren Nassef, using pinpricks through heavy cardstock."

Damn, this is fine. I've got nothing else.

Isaac Tobin is a wonderful designer. This type of work proves it. So simple. So complicated. So perfect.

That's an amazing design and concept. How perfectly it illustrates the notion of obsession.

Just discovered your blog thanks to Blogs of Note (congrats!). I'm in pre-press at National Geographic. I'll be back for more!

Craftsmanship indeed. This cover is amazing. Do you think people will realize just how good it is without the explanation though?

Yeah I think this one's my favorite so far. I love it when peops go back to the old way of doing design and this ones definitely one of them. I just love it.

Congrats on the blogs of note selection. Keep up the great work!

This is beautiful. And Greg was right, a perfect way to illustrate obsession. It's great that the cover is a clean spacious design, then you look close and see all the time and detail spent on the pin pricks. I love when design can be appreciated in different ways depending on how you look at it.

That is so cool and perfect for te topic. I think I'll be poking a needle through some cardstock soon just because it looks so cool on here.

Amazing, I love this cover. After seeing all these books with windows that fray and eventually tear when re-shelved, this looks like a great design and is sturdy enough to last.
