I did the illustration for this jacket, and read the manuscript a year before it came out: it's a novel about a guy who retires to an avocado farm in Texas, and befriends a neighbor's elephant. He picks up and reads a book titled "Philosophy Made Simple" and tries to use it as a lens through which to see his life. It is a charming and whimsical work of fiction, NOT an scholarly post-modern treatise.

For a book titled "Philosophy Made Simple", that's a pretty complicated cover.
Go dig on James Victore's design for "What is Philosophy?" by Gilles Deleuze
