The Book of Lost Books

The books in Stuart Kelly's clever and highly entertaining new book are works of literature that have somehow been lost to posterity.

Sounds like a great read. On the cover, we've got a burned book and one that never saw the light of day, meeting its premature end in the trashcan. But what's the image in the middle? I can't make it out.

My guess is that it's a book that's been left in the dark to sprout like a potato left in the pantry...

I think you're right! Good call.

Maybe the implication is that the book is still a tree, ergo it is the "book never written."

The book itself sounds interesting. Unfortunately, the cover is ao boring/blah that I'd never pick it up. I'd do like Dionne Warwick and walk on by.
