King Dork

Yup, you're right. That is JD Salinger's Catcher in the Rye that's been scratched up and written on. And as this book is aimed at young adults, I would say this cover just about hits it out of the park.

I totally agree. It's irreverant, on-target, and pretty brilliant. Oh, to get to work on a book like that...

If this book is aimed at young adults, they're not going to immediately recognize that cover as Salinger. Everybody I know--I'm 19--either read it at the library or from one of the white/rainbow cornered copies that've been published since 1991.

Otherwise a great cover, though messing with The Catcher in the Rye is jackoffery of the first order.

How the F does one get away with this? I'm working on a (gulp) similar idea. What are the legal ramifications?
