The problem with white space on covers that many designers don't understand is that it is terribly impractical for bookstores and people who read on the subway. The books get filthy. Yes, the graphic quality of white space is great, but the practical, everyday design quality/usability isn't.

I find the Jello disturbing. It doesn't look like lime- more like broccoli flavored.
