Little Stalker

Design by Archie Ferguson

We haven't seen little plastic people in quite some time. I'm guessing a little might go a long way.

And maybe the type geeks in the crowd can tell me why the "S" looks so weird?

I'm not a total type geek, but I would say that I think the middle part of the "S" is way too fat. It squeezes out the arches in the top and bottom of the S, making it looked squished or something. Plus I think the kerning is a little off.

In addition: To be honest, I think it's kind of a crappy font.

i think it's just a horribly awkward font. the proportions are off on just about every letter.

but probably what makes the s especially jarring is the fact that it's the only rounded letterform next to all those stark straight lines in the other letters. so the clumsy curves pop out even more.

i think they just flipped the character so it's wrong side up.

The cover is completely unmemorable....but then again so is the book...majorly skip this one....

I think the font it's set in was designed with an S whose curves don't extend enough beyond the flat characters, which results in it appearing smaller than it should. Also I think it should be pulled in a hair closer to the T.
