Dead Man's Float
Design by David Drummond
One of AIGA's 50 Books / 50 Covers for 2007 selections. My apologies to designer David Drummond, who sent this to me a while back; I meant to post it earlier. And thanks to the Covers blog for reminding everyone that it's a great time of year to check out some of the best book design you've ever seen.

Beautiful.
There are things about it that I would expect to frustrate me, and somehow they don't bother me at all.
I'm delighted.
yeah, this is a fun cover. Very engaging and you are compelled to read what the hell it says...
Pretty cool. There does seem to be an accidental element that really works for it.
Nice to see a Canadian here. Great cover, and deserved the award.
Beautiful.
Ohhh i'm totally in love with this book cover...
Love it! I love the idea of making the cover look like the first page of a book, and the floating guy in the middle keeps it from being too predictable. And "a novel" written in the corner? Genius.
I read all the text, and now I want to buy the book. So this design isn't just aesthetically pleasing - it's a good seller, too.
