And the Results Are In: Your Favorites of 2007

This year's poll was a great success. 2519 votes were cast. The poll is now closed -- my sincere thanks go to everyone who voted.

The winner? With 13% of the votes, David Drummond's design of Small Crimes in the Age of Abundance, also recognized in this year's AIGA 50 Books / 50 Covers show:

A very close second (with 11% of the vote) goes to Evan Gaffney's design of One Perfect Day:

These two were clear favorites, accounting for nearly 1 out of every 4 votes.

6 other books received at least 5% of the votes: The Yiddish Policeman's Union, The Cigarette Century, One Red Paperclip, The Collected Poems 1956-1998, After Dark, and Brave New World (not previously discussed here).

I was surprised The Worst Years of Your Life didn't fare better, coming in 9th with 4% of the votes. If you haven't seen it in person, make a note to yourself to check it out in the bookshop.

Wish I Could Be There brought up the bottom. Gotta tell you, I still like it, for reasons explained in the original post.

Covers that I didn't include but which were mentioned by those leaving comments include Rodrigo Corral's designs of The Dead Fish Museum paperback and Rant and Alister McInness' How to Speak at Special Events, among others.

So again, thanks to all who voted, all who visited, all who left comments -- in short, all who made this first BDR poll a very fun experience. Check out the original Favorites of 2007 post here.
